    After updating to version 4.1.6.2, a red notice appeared when creating a new post – “AIOSEO Pro relies on the WordPress Rest API and your site might have it disabled.”
    This message is only shown to authors. For administrators this message does not show.
    This is a problem on three of my sites, and it’s interesting that the warning says about the pro version, but we have a lite version.

    Hello and thanks for your reply.
    The problem was found on the sites https://zvuk-m.com/ and https://kavkazmusic.tv/ On both sites the version of the plugin is 4.1.6.2
    The problem occurs only for authors. Administrators don’t have a problem. There may be a problem on my other sites (20 sites), but there are no authors, only administrators, so I can not confirm. Here are some screenshots as an illustration:
    The same post looks like this when edited:

    Hi,

    We are also facing the same issue after the upgrade.
    AIOSEO version: 4.1.6.2
    WordPress version: 5.8.3 (multisite)

    The message appears for Author and Editor roles. It doesn’t show for admins.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    This is a bug that we introduced in the latest update where non-admin users in AIOSEO Lite don’t have access to a few of our REST API routes.

    Besides for the headline analyzer in the editor, this actually does not affect anything. The message you’re seeing is a false-negative but it shows up because the route that it uses to test the connection with the REST API is failing.

    We have already developed a fix for this and will include it in the next update, which should be out early February. As I said, this bug is pretty harmless and doesn’t really cause any issues, but if the message is bothering you and you don’t want to wait until February, please feel free to reach out to our support team via our Basic Question form here and we’ll be happy to send you a beta build – https://aioseo.com/contact/
