After auto-installing the latest version yesterday evening, all posts are gone and showing 404.
The solution to keep the site back online was to deactivate the plugin.

as we are a news-website, we can not efford to be offline for a second.

could you pls. investigate the problem and give us a link to a working previous version?

the version installed (with the problem is 9.1
    WP-version is 4.9.8

    thx,
    alex

We apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with our plugin. Sometimes resetting the permalink structure will quickly solve a 404 error from a recent change to your installation. After activating Yoast SEO, go to Admin > Settings > Permalinks and click save without altering anything.

If the issue remains, please provide the answers to the following:

    1. Have you performed a conflict check? If not, please do so. Did you discover a conflict?
    2. Does the issue occur when using a default theme with only Yoast SEO active?
    3. Is the issue specific to a certain part of your site? Do other pages display properly?

We were able to fix this issue by de- and re-activating the plugin.

anyway, it should be investigated to keep the faith of pro-users ..
