    Hi,
i just saw my site down,
Then I have a mail as administrator
“Un errore di E_PARSE è stato causato nella linea 271 del file /web/htdocs/www.dayitalianews.com/home/wp-content/plugins/slider-hero/qc-view/qcld_sliderhero_slider_create.php. Messaggio di errore: syntax error, unexpected end of file”

Then I went to recovery mode and saw this –>

“This plugin did not load correctly and is paused during recovery mode.
This plugin did not load correctly and is paused during recovery mode.

An E_PARSE error was caused in line 375 of the /web/htdocs/www.dayitalianews.com/home/wp-content/plugins/slider-hero/qc-view/qcld_sliderhero_slider_create.php file. Error message: syntax error, unexpected end of file”

So with a paused plugin my site now is working, but I just wonder what should I do to activate this plugin since i need it for slider.

    Plugin version – 8.1.6
    Wordpress – 5.4.2

    thank you

Can you please confirm the PHP version on the server?

    Thanks

    Thanks.

    PHP 7.3 is great.

From the message “Error message: syntax error, unexpected end of file” it seems like maybe the plugin did not download or unzip successfully. Can you try deleting the plugin entirely and installing it again?

Though unlikely, but it can also happen because the hosting space ran out to unzip the plugin file properly. So check that too.

    Thanks

Iit seems strange to me since the plugin was installed and worked correctly for months, and situation happened today – it wasnt after an update or something. So why suddently there is a problem with unzipping plugin.. Of course I was thinking about reinstalling it but it would be like the last desicion since I have sliders on the pages and reinstalling plugin means lose them.
    Thank you anyway

    Hi,

We cannot duplicate the error. However, we have released a new version with a possible fix. Can you please upgrade and check if that fixes the issue?

    Thanks

I upgrade the plugin, apparently the issue is gone.
