Alert Types

I should probably add this to the plugin description, but the original intent of the plugin was to alert to severe weather. So, only warnings are included by default and those are listed below.

• Tornado Warning
• Severe Thunderstorm Warning
• Flash Flood Warning
• Flood Warning
• Blizzard Warning
• Winter Storm Warning
• Freeze Warning
• Dust Storm Warning
• High Wind Warning

There are possibly a few other warnings that should be included, but I wanted to keep the list simple.

Note that you can modify that default list by using the ‘nws_alerts_allowed_alert_types’ filter hook. If adding alert types, you will also need to use the ‘nws_alerts_sort_alert_types’ filter hook. Both filter hooks pass an array of alert types that can be manipulated (added to or removed) and then returned. The list of alerts will be included with the description in a future release.
