• Ok,
I have no Idea what to call this question, but what I am trying do is this: I have a plugin that you add files to your site and can choose to display them on their own page…what I am needing is a notification or alert to add itself to the front page alerting visitors of the “recent addition”. For example an MP3…I add it and when I do, I need for it to say “listen to the most recent mp3” and have a “listen here” or “listen” button. but at the same time, if there are no files, it obviously wouldnt show.?!? can anyone help? on the same token, the plugin sorts the files automatically by author/series and when you click on the series, it takes you to the “series” page etc. The problem is, it creates its own pages so I have no way of controlling how that page is laid out or what content is on it. is there a way to control that?

    Thanks for any help.

    Erik

If the files were creating posts, you could display most recent on your front page using a widget.
Pages arent usually sorted by time/date so this would be a complicated thing to do. Are you comfortable coding in php?

    Cathy,
Thanks for your quick response. I have taken over a site for the church and they had already had the theme and such started…it is a premium theme and it has a front page that has to be the “posts” page, however, it doesnt technically look like a “posts” page. And the theme comes with a “sermon manager” and it already has the feature I was speaking of (automatically places an “alert” on the homepage saying to listen to the latest “TITLE”), it just doesnt have other features that another plugin offers…This seems to be a little confusing let me know if I can be clearer…I know nothing (well VERY little) about PHP. I just need this other plugin in which I can download from the repository, to be able to utilize that “alert”
