By default, the author sitemap only shows users that have published content and have the ability to publish content (contributors, editors, etc).

You can include users that have not published content under

Admin > SEO > Search Appearance > Archives (tab)

Under the Author archives section, there is an option

Show archives for authors without posts in search results?

    Yes = Include all users
No = Include only those that have published content

What user role(s) are the missing users? If they are subscribers, they will not appear in the sitemap.

Are you using a user management plugin? A multiple author plugin?

We apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with our plugin. Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict.

Please provide the answers to the following:

    • Have you performed a conflict check? If not, please do so. Did you discover a conflict?
    • Does the issue occur when using a default theme with only Yoast SEO active?
    • Does the issue occur with the current 5.3.2 version of WordPress?
    • Does the issue occur with the current 13.3 version of Yoast SEO?
    • Is the issue specific to a certain part of your site, like posts, products, categories, etc?

If you find a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a?new GitHub issue?for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can?purchase Yoast SEO Premium?and receive our premium email support so we can help you further.

Which capabilities have been given to these custom roles?

    Thread Starter qaziatif786

    (@qaziatif786)

I have created user roles using paid membership subscription. This website is a kind of user directory to search and display user on frontend. i have not assign them any capabilities to them but just they can pay by role and they can enjoy the feature of our website.

The author sitemap does not contain users with no or very limited capabilities.

You or your developer can modify the code to fit your needs. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes.

We recommend checking out Code Poet, WordPress Jobs, or WordPress Professional Network for development & consultancy.

Okay i am the developer on this site . just let me know which capability need to set to display user in sitemap. then i will block that user to access wordpress backend.

The sitemap is an author sitemap, the user role must be equivalent to a contributor or higher. A contributor can read content, edit posts, delete posts and have level 0 & 1 capabilities.

    (@qaziatif786)

I see. contributer have Level_0 and Level_1 capabilities and only can read post.i assign the same capabilities to my roles which i want to show in sitemap. is it enough to make it work? because i cant see them in sitemap still now. or may be it will take time to regenerate.

Second one custom post are not showing in sitemap too. i am using the plugin event made easy and site of this custom post are not generating.

I think the problem is in archive page. Can you help me to figure out which one i have to use.
i am using author.php to show author single page.
I author-list.php to display all author with pagination.

Is it okay to list all users in sitemap?

    Hi,

We are not familiar with your site and we think the issue is specific to your set-up. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ to receive our premium email support where we can help you further.

However, we can say the authors which appear here https://lifecoachnearme.co.uk/author-sitemap.xml are likely generated from the author.php file. And it is OK to list all the users in your sitemap and make them appear in Google if that is what your target audience is expecting.

    Closed. No further questions.
