• Dear Smart People,

Could you take a look at countrymouse-citymouse.com and take a guess at how I broke my category display? It’s in the bar beneath the banner.

Earlier today I went into the dashboard and re-organized the categories so that there were parents and children. Afterwards, only three top-level categories showed up in the bar and with them not all of their sub-categories.

For instance, what’s supposed to be under “Challenge Announcements” is “Davoya’s Challenge Meals” and then “Tiffany’s Challenge Meals.” It doesn’t even show the second. I tried to remove the hierarchy to fix it but the second one still didn’t make it up (so I just restored the hierarchy in hopes that I could find a fix).

I’m using a modified Lonely Tree theme.

Any ideas of what I need to tweak? I can send you whatever snippets of code you need.

Temp try another theme to see if your cat. structure is correctly interpreted and shown

Okay, I switched to Chip Zero temporarily. The categories do nest the way they’re supposed to, so it’s definitely a problem with my stylesheet I’m guessing?

    Found a movie

But since I stay in bandwidth challenged .za I cannot watch it for you

Thank goodness it was something that didn’t involve me to mess with the CSS too much.

The problem was in that little piece of code “wp_list_categories (‘sort_column=name&number=7

It didn’t allow me enough categories. I changed it to 15 and they’re all showing up now.

Thanks for that video link, though! It recommended a really useful tool I hadn’t known about.
