All Comments Disappeared/ Gone after I have updated plugins

  • Hi,

    This is a Membership forum site and using an Avada theme. I am using WPdiscuz plugin for comment system.

    I am not really sure what happened but what I did yesterday was just updated the plugins and then all the comments went missing and just totally disappeared. Its as if no comments were made at all.

    Is there a way to retrieve this?

    Your help is greatly appreciated as I am stuck on what to do.

    Please deactivate other plugins, delete all caches and do Ctrl+F5 on front-end.

    I did just that deactivated other plugins, deleted all caches and did Ctrl+F5 on front-end. But its not working.

    When I look at the backend under Comments > wpdiscuz > no comments at all.

    We had a lot of comments like already hundreds in there prior to updating plugins.

    Is there anything else I can do?

    Just passing by – what happens if you briefly deactivate the wp-discuz plugin, do the comments appear again?

    I think that’ll help to know, if they are really gone, or just not displayed for some reason.

    And if they are really gone it might be good to ask your web host to restore a backup to before you updated the plugins and they were lost. Better lose two or three days of content rather than years of comments, no? Web hosts don’t keep backups forever, so if you find the comments are really entirely gone, it’s best to act fast.

    This is something very strange. There is no way to remove comments by updating wpDiscuz. This is impossible. But at the moment I see there is no comments. We’re currently checking your website, I’ll get back to you soon.

    same here… comments disappeared. new comments work but wont show.
    Please send version 4.1.3 ASAP. thank you

    We’ll help you to keep the current version and keep updating in future. The downgrading is not a good idea.

    it is indeed the version causing problems.
    comment accepted but as soon i refresh the page it disappeared.
    tried previous version until i finally found that version 4.0.9 is working fine.
    not sure about 4.1.0 but all above is not working.

    i tried disabling plugins, updating and all normal steps.

    In this case you should delete all type of caches and do Ctrl+F5 on front-end.
    Also you should navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Forms admin page, edit the Default form, make sure it’s enabled for all post types and user roles. Save the form and test it again.

    i have another problem, need to disable ajax in login button.
    i done this before but cant figure out how.
