I realize this has been an issue before, and there was a fix for it recently. However, I’m on the latest version and somehow the specific option (Check complete site markup for comment forms) was enabled. Perhaps it was part of the fix to enable it by default?

However, it’s exactly this option that was causing the problem for me. For anyone else having this problem, here’s the probable reason.

I’m using a plugin to hide comments unless someone scrolls all the way down. It reduces page size and load times. The ‘check complete site markup’ doesn’t work in this case, since the comments are loaded after the page has fully rendered.

    Hi @eriky82

somehow the specific option (Check complete site markup for comment forms) was enabled

This is the default behavior before 2.10.0. If you have ASB installed we do not change this and therefore the option is checked. But we offer an option to disable this behavior and use the filter.

For anyone else having this problem, here’s the probable reason.

Thanks so much for this report!

This makes totally sense and is one reason we changed the behavior to use the filter. ??

Thanks again for the report. If you can add the plugin you have used to hide the comments maybe someone with the same problem can find this thread a little bit easier.

Of course. I’m using Lazy Load for Comments. It allows you to automatically show the comments once someone scrolls down or lets the user press a button to explicitly open the comments. The comments and the comment form get loaded through an AJAX call, hence ASB can’t check them beforehand.
