A user has reported that v1.39, released a few days ago, has caused all of their custom uploaded images to disappear from the public view of their portfolio. The thumbnails still show in the admin listing.

We currently believe that this is due to a possible incompatibility with PHP7 and not a widespread issue. PHP7 has never been technically supported but has worked through v1.38. We are currently evaluating what it will cost to ensure compatibility, assuming this is related to PHP7. If the cost is reasonable or if it is not PHP7-related, then we will release a “fix” update shortly.

    Best regards,

    Brandon

After quite a bit of back-and-forth with the reporting user, we were unable to confirm this to be a widespread issue or gather enough troubleshooting information before they decided to just downgrade to PHP5.

However, we installed PHP7 and fully tested v1.39. We were unable to reproduce any issues and the plugin appears to be fully compatible with PHP7, provided all the standard flags and libraries are compiled. In fact, the plugin ran significantly faster on PHP7. My developer who has been working on this plugin states: “I think the problems were connected with PHP compile flags or not installed libraries.”

We will close this as “Cannot Reproduce” until someone else reports this or similar issues.
