I’ve been using this plugin for years without issue, but have run into a serious problem in the past couple days. I am trying to import a client website to a second location to work through some updates before pushing live. The file exports without issue, but after I import to the new location all the Dashboard links initiate a file download instead of taking me to the page. I can’t resave the Permalinks twice, since EVERY click downloads a .php file.

I have tried this a couple times now – first on an existing install and secondly on a fresh install with a brand new database. Both times I get the same result.

Exported from WP version 4.9.6 (one of the updates I plan to implement).

    Delete .htaccess and try again.
If it does not fix it, look for a plugin that could be causing this (usually security plugins).
