All external links are nofollow (so it seems…)
-
Hi all,
I’m having a hard time solving this weird problem I encountered. I manage a few websites (did not built any of them, I just ‘inherited’ them from my predecessor) that have a lot of links between them. So I wanted to measure how much traffic is going from one site to another. However… one particular site isn’t showing up as referral in any analytics of the other websites.
So I checked the links. Some of the indeed are nofollow noreferrer. Okay, fair enough. But others don’t have a rel atribute at all! And still, If I click on them and check the realtime google analytics data, I can see my visit, but the referral is not registered. The other way around, links from any other website to my ‘problem’ website, DO show up in analytics instantly.
Just to be sure: I haven’t messed with the Yoast setting under Advanced (https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/tell-search-engines-what-to-do-with-links/) to set the entire page to nofollow. Are there other Yoast settings I should check?
Anyone got any idea what is wrong with my site? On the provided link, you can find multiple links to one and the same website. Buttons include noreferrer, but the links in text are just plain.
Here’s to hoping someone can come up with a good idea!
