@jenny7 – The gallery preview images are linking to https://southside.powermediallc.org/photos/nggallery/all … are you using the “Link to page” option for your galleries and/or album? If so, try setting it to not linked.

    Thanks!

@photocrati Thanks for your response. I have all galleries set to “Not linked”. Not sure where to look to set the album to that, but I never linked either to a specific page.

@jenny7 – The album “Link to page” option is located under Gallery > Manage Albums … select an album from the drop-down to edit and click the Edit album button.

Do you recall what changed on your site prior to this issue occurring?

All albums are set to ‘not linked’ as well. I guess the change started after updated to WordPress. We just found this issue recently, but could have occurred after the latest wordpress update. I’ve tried everything, but can’t seem to figure out how to get the galleries to show.

Not sure how this happened, but when clicking on a gallery I get to a URL that should show the images. However, it just takes you back to the homepage. An example follows: https://southside.powermediallc.org/photos-hs-softball/nggallery/hs-softball/varsity-softball-2015

Also, I just tried adding a gallery to a post and it did not work. The images did show on the site. They are in the admin section when I go to manage gallery????

In playing with this a bit, all images are seen in the admin section of the site. However, when trying to view images on the front end of the site I get “no images found” OR “we cannot display this gallery”. I used the shortcode from your documentation.

    [ngg_images gallery_ids=”55″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails”]

Why are my images seen on the admin section, but not on the front end?

    Thanks for your help.

@jenny7 – Try removing the quotes from the parameter values in the shortcode to see if that works better … or try using the IGW (“green button”) in the TinyMCE editor’s visual tab to insert displays.

Just tried your suggestion, but both came back with images that didn’t display. All images were broken. Any other suggestions?

How can I see the images in the admin section, but can’t when viewing in the gallery on site? They seems to be a disconnect…maybe when I upgraded to a recent version.

@jenny7 – Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

Yes, I did all of that. Problem is I can’t get any of the galleries to show on the site. Images show in the widget, but not in galleries/albums. This occurs in both the IGW and when I add shortcode.

    i have the same issue
i run the same exact theme and plugins on 2 websites
1 of them everything works 100% fine
the other shows a ! icon when i post a gallery using the Green icon in the admin page
but the images still shows up fine on the post
. but i do not get that ! error icon on my first website though it doesnt seem to affect anything.
And if i use gallery pages on that second site it also goes back to the main index page
If i use default Permalinks it fixes it
But my website is already linked everywhere and i use the same custom permalink on my other website and it works fine /%category%/%postname%
so i cannot afford just using default permalink
and it is not my plugins either has both sites are setup the exacy same way
But ya using default does fix it but will not work once back to my custom one which is the same thing on the other website

Cannot Edit my previous post anymore so sorry for reposting
    But problem is Fixed!
Give it a try @jenny7 Hopefully would work for you too

?Put back permalinks to default save
?Then put back to custom or whatever used before save again
?Then use *Reset Options* in other options for nggallery
    ?Clear WordPress Cache
?i Highly suggest Wordfence for fastest Cache and security
If already using, the cache is kind of hidden in *performance setup*
Post galleries using the Toolbar Green icon to be sure

Now i see the icon in admin post and it properly links to pages

And a little Kudo to Author while im at it
This gallery is just by far the best combo with my theme, i just love it !
and this page option is a great SEO and Ads impression Increase tool
i especially love how i can add pictures to 1 gallery and not have to edit any posts

    So thanks for great plugin
And hopefully my solution can fix your problems jenny
