Building on kormani.skelleftea.org. Swedish wp version 2.7.someting (can’t check), old because the sql version is old, (The ISP offers the server space “as is” and whithout any database upgrades) Using the build-in password feature allowing special visitors to accest specific pages. Since I would like visitors to be automatically logged out after a period of time I search and find the plugin “Automatic Sign Out For Inactivity 1.0” which seems good enough. Downloading and activating. Then everythink turns completely white. Huh? Not like the pages are missing, but only like they are whithout any code. The admin page (wp-admin) is also unavailable in the same manner. All wp files and folders are still there though (confirmed through ftp). Please tell me that something basic has gone corrupt and that there should be a way to get it all back! If so, how do I do that?

    Please help! Thanks in advance!

  • FTP into your site (or whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the new plugin’s folder inside wp-content/plugins.

I would suggest that you do not try uploading any more plugins as virtually all of them will be incompatible with your old version of WordPress.

Thanks esmi, that solved my problem! Before I deleted the folder I deleted all cookies associated with my site, just to see what would happen. It also “solved” the problem, at least temporarily until I logged into the admin area, which rendered the blank pages phenomenom again.

Current WP version is 2.7.1. According to the plugin info it requires 2.7 or higher, so I thought it would be safe…

Anyway, thanks again for your support!
