• It is a beautiful font, really, but haven’t you made the point? OK we get it,…it’s artsy, elegant blogging software. You win! But for the thread titles and date stamps??? I am thinking like, did Sherlock Holmes design this? Or has the Telnet UI team from 1987 finally reunited for one last gig?
P.S. I think you should also be required to login to post or create threads. It would make conversations in the forum *much* easier to follow, and maybe cranky forum critics less likely to lash out.

  • David, I just took al look at the page you mentioned (scribe.com), and because I wanted to make an objective judgement and I took a look at the two examples and chose the ones that appeared most friendly to me, most pleasant and relaxed viewing (can’t find another word for it now). I chose Times New Roman and Arial. Funny!
The Georgia is overdone in my opinion. Takes up too much space on the screen. Feels as if the characters are made up of a lot of different strokes, which makes it almost stressfull to my eyes.

*angry anon nutbag* — i WAS suggesting you change the layout for the forums. most current browsers allow you the option of using your own style sheet / settings for web pages viewed. you may want to give that a try if you simply cannot handle the fonts used here.
my apologies for the perception of being overly annoyed … i don’t deal well with whiners.

I haven’t seen a “ban georgia font” site yet but have seen….
    https://www.bancomicsans.com/

As far as Serif fonts go, Palatino rules. The use of Georgia seems pervasive in WordPress so I just replace it with Verdana in the stylesheet and I’m good to go. I also notice how much screen real estate Georgia wastes as compared to many other fonts (both serif and sans-serif). The forums would scroll a lot less and be easier to read in another font but the developers seem to like Georgia so that’s what we get.

I like the Georgia font. I take it kind of personally ?? It’s not my name, just where I am, and becomes my screen name in many places. (This is my first post here)
I’ve liked the font since it was introduced, and it’s very under-used on the web. I guess that’s why I like Word Press, it feels like home … georgia!
I actually use Georgia and Verdana as a mix. I find Georgia to be very readable, and that’s key to a web document.
I’m a new Word Press user. Most of my sites still run MT, but I’m slowly converting. I have multiple weblogs with MT on one of my sites, so converting everything to WP isn’t my exact goal, though it’ll be such if I find the time to make it so.

I AM SO HAPPY THIS THREAD WAS WRITTEN WITH CAPITAL LETTERS AS ITS HEADLINE. IT MAKES IT SO MUCH EASIER TO FIND IT AMONG THE OTHER NON-VALUABLE THREADS.
IF YOU DON’T LIKE GEORGIA, NO OFFENCE, MAKE A STYLESHEET AND SUBMIT IT TO THE DEVS.

*sigh* spammers… so much noise from nothing…

Yet another reason to disable anonymous posting… on topic, I like the Georgia font, but this is just a waste of good thread space.
