All-in-One calendar with WP Views & Types

I am using the all-in-one calendar plugin as well as Views & Types (or Toolset i guess it’s called now). I am trying to insert a view into an event but when I do the event details disappear from the page. If that’s not possible I would be happy with creating a custom type for certain events but it won’t let me even use the all-in-one calendar taxonomy even if i tick the box in my custom type.
