    Hello

We have followed the migration steps in the following document:

    https://yoast.com/help/migrate-from-all-in-one-seo-to-yoast-seo/

After running the migration, we’re noticing that the Title and Description content placed in the AIOSEO fields are not migrated into the equivalent fields for Yoast.

The Yoast Title and Description fields seem to have the default “Title | Site Title” for the Title, and “Post content” for the Description. This is *after* the migration has completed.

Is there a reason that the previous Title/Description values from AIOSEO weren’t migrated over to the new Yoast meta records?

    • Yoast SEO 20.5
    • PHP 8.0

    Thank you

I understand you’re having trouble importing SEO data from the AIOSEO plugin. Don’t worry. We’re here to help!

The SEO data from the AIOSEO plugin includes your keyphrases, SEO titles, meta description, and other settings you have done for your posts and pages while using the plugin.

I tested with AIOSEO (Version 4.3.6.1) and Yoast SEO (v20.6). I input the SEO title and meta description on AISEO field of the test post and published it. Going to Yoast SEO > Tools > Import, I clicked ‘Import’ and received a success message. Then I was able to see the the SEO title and meta description into the Yoast SEO fields imported from the AIOSEO plugin. This shows the import function in Yoast SEO is working as expected.

Can you please make sure you follow the steps there? If you encounter any issues, let us know what step and provide us a screenshot so we can investigate further.

For info, I have just discovered the hard way that AIOSEO does NOT delete its tables from the database when it is uninstalled. WP-Optimize will assist with deleting redundant tables.
