Hello, I manage several sites and I am noticing that the recent All in One SEO plugin update crashes all my sites, but only when I have the firewall enabled and have extended protection enabled. I plan to reach out to the All In One SEO developer as well, but thought I should bring this to your attention as I am not really sure which developer to reach out to here?

Hi @card-one-concepts, thanks for reaching out to us.

It is possible from the circumstances you describe that the extended protection is blocking a request that All-in-One SEO is trying to make either in the background or with Javascript so might be getting caught as a false-positive. When you install a plugin out of choice and are trying to perform regular known functions with it, you’re in a position of having enough information to “authorize” it and overrule the block.

Please try a period of time testing with Learning Mode turned on. From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now perform the actions that were causing issues. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if these actions work correctly.

I hope that helps you out.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
