• All it did was deactivate a bunch of random plugins (most of which I deleted hours before the reset, some were active), undo hours of settings, and deleted hours of work; I set it to restore for the previous 15 minutes. It wiped out hours. I had to sure Jetpack’s Backup because I installed the fake bbpress Shortcodes plugin that crash my site. I got this plugin from the WordPress directory. I’ll give Jetpack 3 stars for at least getting my Dashboard working again but what’s the point of having the option to Backup to the last 15 minutes if you’re going to wipe out approx 6 hours of updates?

    Hi @alexbanx

Thanks for reaching out—I completely understand how frustrating it must be to lose hours of work when restoring a recent backup. Jetpack Backup is designed to capture changes in real time, so I’d like to help clarify what may have happened.

A few possible reasons why your restore didn’t include all recent updates:

    • Backup Timing – Jetpack saves changes frequently, but if a backup wasn’t triggered before the restore, some updates may not have been included. You can check the Activity Log (Jetpack → Activity Log) to see exactly when your last backup was taken.
    • Plugin Crash Impact – The bbPress Shortcodes plugin crash may have caused issues before Jetpack could back up all recent changes.
    • Caching Effects – Some hosts use aggressive caching, which can make it seem like changes are missing after a restore. Clearing your cache may help display the most up-to-date version of your site.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend checking your Activity Log to confirm the last backup time and see if an earlier restore point might contain more of your missing work.

I know this isn’t the outcome you were expecting, and I want to make sure you have the best possible experience with Jetpack Backup. Let me know if you have any questions—I’m happy to help!
