All MailPoet subscribers are marked as 'subscribed'

    Users on my site use a single form to register as a wordpress user and also join a MailPoet list. I am using sign-up confirmation emails.

    The issue is that because all MailPoet subscribers are registered wordpress users, on the subscribers page they are all automatically marked as ‘subscribed’ in their status. Even before they get the sign-up confirmation email for the MailPoet list.

    It’s just a small problem that I can’t see which users are genuinely confirmed for the MailPoet list.

    Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation of the plugin?

    Hi there

    Really sorry for the delay in getting back to you!

    I’ve just checked and they shouldn’t automatically be marked as subscribed if they’re a WordPress user and you want them to confirm subscription to another list.

    Could you confirm a few things:
    1. I assume you’ve got MailPoet->Settings->Subscribe in registration form checked and the list you want them to be subscribed to is checked.
    2. You’re using the standard WordPress registration form

    I’m not using a standard WordPress registration form. I’m using Formidable Pro. Do you think that is the issue?

    I’m getting this on several sites. As soon as a user submits a form that includes the Formidable Pro registration action, they are added to a the ‘WordPress users’ list and are set to ‘subscribed’ – even if they haven’t activated their new account by clicking a link in a welcome email (part of the Formidable action), and even if they haven’t confirmed their subscription to any other MailPoet lists. They are automatically and instantly asigned ‘subscribed’ status.

    That might be the reason for sure!
