• Hello. I’ve been formatting a WordPress-backed site (hosted by Media Temple) for one year, and a couple days ago all my formatting disappeared! The site now looks like it did back in March of 2011, and I can’t log in to my webmail or anything having to do with the site. Even this webpage (the support forum) has no formatting. What happened?!?!

    My site is https://thehandshakemagazine.com.

  • You should go here for support, https://en.support.wordpress.com/

    www.ads-software.com is for self-hosted sites.

My site is a self-hosted site! I built it using Organic Themes, but now that theme has disappeared, and the site has reverted back to its old ways (when it was a WordPress.com site). How do I get it back to the Structure Premium theme? I can’t even log in! This is terrible. Our readers and contributors are all e-mailing me saying, “WHAT HAPPENED?!?!”

You can still see all the content on the website if you go to https://s123078.gridserver.com/. But (as you can see) all my formatting is GONE. Wiped away. Nowhere to be found. Yikes.

Time to call your host. Perhaps they (or maybe you) have a backup.

    Theme support is here, https://www.organicthemes.com/support/

You can also log into your hosted account or by using ftp rename the plugins folder. That is normally one of the first debugging steps.

This is what Media Temple just said to me:

“Please note that troubleshooting WordPress is outside of our scope of support, but I can try to provide limited assistance as a one-time courtesy. Your website is trying to load files from “thehandshakemagazine.com”, which is not being hosted on your (gs) Grid-Service. This is giving 404 not found errors, and causing the problem you are seeing. To fix this, you will need to change your WordPress site and home URL’s from “https://thehandshakemagazine.com” to “https://s123078.gridserver.com”, or optionally “https://thehandshakemagazine.com.s123078.gridserver.com”.”

The thing I don’t get is that “thehandshakemagazine.com” has been hosted on my (gs) Grid-Service for the past year. So what happened to make that change? This is so frustrating.

I’ll try renaming my plugins folder. That is your suggested first step? Thanks.

Your url, thehandshakemagazine.com needs to point to the name servers at gridserver. You should not have to change your urls.

Our freakin’ domain expired, and my contact information wasn’t up-to-date. Such a simple problem that gave me SUCH a headache. All is solved. Thanks for your help.
