All my images are invisible

    I just got this plugin and started Smushing all of the images in my media library, as an SEO checkup site said images were having a detrimental effect on my site’s speed.

    I stopped after some considerable smushing (there are a ton of images in my media library) and checked my page speed which to my delight had improved!!!

    Unfortunately, when I refreshed my homepage I realized all of the images on my slider were invisible. I could still see the hover cursor icon that indicated there was a clickable image that would still redirect visitors to the appropriate pages on my sites, but the images themselves were invisible. I tried reuploading, renaming, disabling auto compress for newly imported images.. nothing worked.

    In a panic and without and feasible alternatives I disabled Smush. Problem solved and images restored. I would like to use this plugin because it definitely improved my page’s load speed, but not if it makes all of my images invisible.

    Is this a common issue? Is there a reasonable fix to this problem?

    Hi there @jshanker2

    If images disappear from view after smushing them, that is most often due to page cache or cached minified assets (JS & CSS).

    Looking at your page’s source code, I see that you are using the Autoptimize plugin for your cache & file minification needs.

    So I’d be willing to bet that if you reactivate Smush & smush your images again, they’ll appear fine when you clear all caches afterwards. ??

    Thanks for the speedy reply! Is there a way to smush images more quickly than one at a time? Basically I had to orient my media library as a list and go down the line smushing away, and while I can click as fast as anyone else I do have a TON of pictures in my library. To do them all individually will end up leaving my site in active disarray for longer than I would ideally prefer until I am able to finish smushing and then clear my cache.

    I saw on a demo video someone doing 50 smushes at a time simply by pushing a button but I wasn’t able to locate that feature when I activated the plugin. How would you recommend I go about smushing 1300+ images?

    Hey there @jshanker2

    You can Bulk Smush your images, but the free version here is indeed capping every 50 images, so you have to click the Bulk Smush button again.

    Are you also enabling Smush Lazy Loading? Please advise!
    Cause this might be affecting the slider indeed if it is also using its own lazy loading. If that’s the case, you can disable the Revolution Slider lazy load as shown here:
