All my plugins have disappeared

  • All my plugins have disappeared, which is bizarre because they were present and working last night. When I try to reinstall, I get an error message saying the installation failed because they are already installed. My plugin page says I have no plugins installed.

    I only had two plugins: VaultPress and Contact Form 7.

    I found an identical topic discussion from three years ago, and it recommended scanning the site with sucuri. I did, and the site apparently has NOT been hacked. Is this the result of upgrading to 4.3?
