• We were getting errors related to the theme we were using. So we updated the theme and the new version of the theme seems to have wiped out all the web pages in the site. I did a site restore of all the files on the website that are backed up but evidently this does not restore the SQL database. Is all my page content and images in the DB – have they been erased?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Updatting the theme should not have affected your content. What else did you change? What did you do when you “restored”? If you look in PHPMYADMIN, is your DB still there? If so, is it the one you reference in wp-config.php?

If you restored whole web site including DB, unfortunately it seems that your content and images were erased. But if you only restored the files and do not touch DB, your content are still there..

Best option, you may contact to your hosting provider to restore latest backup. After this, you can start to update again.

Steve, Sinan – First thanks to you both for spending time on this problem. I opened PHPMYADMIN and the database seems intact. This makes sense since I nor FATCOW backs up the SQL DB. Still WordPress has no entries in the media or pages sections of its home page. Is there a way of getting WordPress to list every page and image the DB has? Again, thanks for your time and thought.

Everyone – again thanks for your help. We are going to rebuild the site using cached entries from Google. Recommendations for a reliable backup (a hard lesson for not understanding what was backed up by Fat Cow) that includes all the content and is easy to use?

I like “backwpup”. it can do scheduled backups to offsite storage like S3 or Dropbox.
