    Hi..

Why would my website only be returning commercial rates when we are using residential addresses?

    Thank you!

  • Hi,
    Sorry for the delayed response.

You can turn on debug mode from plugin settings page to see API request and response in cart/checkout page.

This will help you to understand what rates you are getting from UPS.

So we purchased the full version and checked off the residential checkbox.

The problem we are having is we do not seem to be getting commercial rates for a commercial address and residential for residential. Now that we have the box checked we are getting residential for all.

Any thoughts on how we can remedy?

    Hi,

If you enable residential checkbox, the plugin will send the ResidentialAddressIndicator’ to UPS API.

If you do not mark the address as residential in the plugin settings, the UPS API will decide whether address is residential or commercial and will return rates depending on that.

As you have marked the address as residential it is returning rates according to that.

Also. you are using the premium version of the plugin so we would request you to post your query using our premium support as that is a dedicated forum for premium users.

Hi…i submitted a request of the premium side and never got a response.

When we turned off the residential indicator…it seemed to only give commercial rates?

Any thoughts? Is there a way for us to have a residential/commercial radio button selector to have the customer indicate the type of address?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

That’s strange. Kindly provide us with the support ticket number and raised a support request at suport@wooforce .com.

We assure you that they will reach you asap, as that is a dedicated helpdesk for the premium users only.

Also, when you turn off the residential indication, it is the UPS inbuilt API that is categorizing the address as residential or commercial.

If you think, the API is not responding to the addresses as expected, then kindly raise an issue with UPS technical support.

    Hope that helped.

Did this issue ever get resolved? We’re having the same problem.

    Hi cairn0967,

In our premium version, you will get an option to toggle residential indicator. Please read our previous replies in this thread. Hope this helps.

If you still have any query, let us know. We would be glad to help.

    Hello,
I’m having the same issue. We also have the premium version. When enabling the residential flag, on the debug, I see a <ResidentialAddressIndicator></ResidentialAddressIndicator> added to the <ShipTo> XML element. When disabling it, it just doesn’t appear. So I guess the plugin is sending the message correctly, but the API is not responding with a residential rate, but a commercial one. When I make a comparison with the value I get using UPS tool “WorldShip” I have a match for commercial rate, but not for residential (since the plugin always get the commercial).

    @alexfbonilla,

I will not be able to take query about the residential issue here, as this is the forum for the free plugin and free plugin doesn’t have the residential option.

Could you please raise a query at support.xadapter.com. Our team will help you to resolve the issue.
