    Hi,

I just updated the wordpress installation to 4.4.2. Unfortunately when I now open in the wp-admin the “All pages” view, all my existing pages are gone. In the front-end my menu is gone and also my default page is gone. I now see the last post.

Can you please help me in how to retrieve my all pages? One of my pages was /occasions. When I now go in the browser to /occasions it still exists, but it is not visible in the admin panel.

    I hope you can help.

I use wordpress 4.4.2 with Aegaeus theme. I tried an default template as well but the described issue stays.

Unfortunately I don’t have a backup (my mistake).

I tried fixing the database and turning off all plugins but it did not have any effect on the issue.

The url of the site is https://www.2-wielers.nl.

    Please help.

    Have you tried:
    – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Also, any op cache or content network cache, as well as Cloudflare, clear those caches.
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
    – If all the above steps do not resolve the issue, then try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.

    Hi Tara,

    what I have tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins
    – resetting plugins folder by FTP
    – switching to unedited default Theme Twenty Sixteen
    – manually update wordpress
    – clear browser cache

I don’t know how to flush server/network cache. Can you advise?

Strangest thing is that all my pages are still existing when I open them by entering the URL. Also in my XML sitemap all pages are still there (https://www.2-wielers.nl/sitemap.xml).
But when I go to “All pages” in my wp-admin they are still missing. I have created a new page to mention to visitors that the site is not working correct. This new created page is still there and works like usual.

    Please advise what to do.

    Hi,

Together with a colleague of mine I Founder the issue.

During the update in all records in the Post table in the field post_type the original value was overwritten to ‘post’. The new value was ‘post’ and was the same for pages, menu-items, images etc. I switched some records where I was sure from they were pages back to ‘page’. As soon As I did that the page was visible in my Wp-admin. I did the same for images. As soon as I changed the post_type to attachment my media library in wp-admin was filled again. Now I have to check all records and fix the post_type.

    Lesson learned: create a back-up!
