• In the next iteration, any chance of tickbox to allow code to run in the header of all pages, or posts, but not on the homepage?

With that little tweak, for me at least you have a real winner here.

I used to use Header & Footer plugin but unfortunately the author forgot the KISS rule, has been seduced by the dark side and added so much crap in there and these days it hardly recognizable.

Interesting use case and point! I’ll take that into consideration. I’ll have to be careful about it though. Like you said, adding more features (even something as simple as this) can later turn into a monster, if not implemented properly.

See, if we single out the Home page, now we have to consider the 404 page, the “Blog” (or Posts) page, the Search Results page, other Archive pages, Media pages. See where this is going? ?? But I’ll give it some thought for a while and see if I can think of a nice, simple solution and caters to a broader range of needs, as opposed to one specific need. Granted, the Home page is practically always important, but some may consider those other pages (404, Archives, etc.) to be just as much so.

In the end I ended up with a couple of additional entries in my functions.php and don’t need a plugin at all.

Great! I’m glad you were able to find something that works for you. I’ll still consider your request though. I really appreciate the feedback so thanks!
