I’m starting a new wordpress on twenty twenty-three. It’s a simple site with a homepage, a contact page, an about page.

So as usual I started to go to settings/reading and selected ‘static page’ for home page. I selected my homepage.

I clicked on edit site to change the footer, header and other customizations. There I found the gutenberg editor. So I build my homepage there.

In the dashboard I also wrote my contact page and about page.

The thing is that my homepage was still empty: it wasn’t filled when I used the ‘edit site’ editor. So the homepage is empty.

However this ‘edit-site-made-homepage’ does show on the view of the homepage of the site. The issue is that every page show this ‘edit-site-made-homepage’.

Now I can’t see any other page than this page built in the ‘edit site’. It feels like this ‘edit-site-made-homepage’ I made is the template of all my pages. But so it doesn’t show any page content, it just always show this page…

It’s a bit confusing what am I missing?

    Thanks

Hi @paddletroke did you design your front page on the Home template found Appearance > Editor?
If that is the case I would suggest going back and removing the page you set as the home page at Settings > ReadingThe Home template will automatically load as your site’s front page.

For any other page on your site, it should use the Page Template which is a default page template. When you are editing this template in your site editor make sure you also include the blocks Post Title and Post Content blocks.

    1. Post Title block will display the page title.
    2. Post Content block will display the content you have added to each page.

Yes you are correct I was editing the template. So I removed the page and instead put the post title and post content and it sovled the issue.

    Thanks !

That’s great, I glad you managed to resolve that. I will mark this as resolved for now.
