When I tried to reload the plugins that quit, I first got a message Do you really want to of this?
Then when I proceeded, the plug in failed to load
Makes me think that the plug in is still somewhere in my files so it resists being duplicated? How can I check that? W@hat would cause that rejection

You mean they all became disabled?

    PLease post a url.

Not just disabled but apparently deleted
When i tried to reinstall one it failed quite possibly because it thought the installation was already in place (but hiddento me)
    The Url is Senioredge.net

Using ftp or the file manager provided by your host check to see if you have the folder/wp-content/plugins

If not create it and then try to install a plugin.

I took your advice and checked the hosting server (GoDaddy)
The folder had disappeared. Fortunately GD were able to recover from their internal backup,
I suspect that this may have been caused by another plug in

    Thanks

Thanks. I checked the host (GoDaddy) and somehow the plug in folder had disappeared/ Fortunately they could restore from their back up files which then worked. So your advice was spot on for which I thank you
