All plugins deleted

    All my plugins have been deleted. My website is a disaster. How does something like this happen? I personally didn’t delete any of them. Is this something that can happen in a WordPress update or is this something that can ONLY happy manually? There are a number of other employees that have access to the website because it’s a company website. Did we get hacked? Is the only way to fix this through re-installing all our plugins? Lastly, is there a way to see who could have done this or what could have in some sort of login history? Thanks.

    I contacted our web host yesterday and they have been able to restore our website to what it was before the plugins went missing. Awesome!

    Bottom line I just found out we had been hacked. Argh.

    Ok, I know this is old but I just updated to 4.2.2 and now my plugins have disappeared from my dashboard. I first got a message on each one that it had been deactivated (or something like that) but when I refreshed the page, they were simply gone. I looked in my wp-contents/plugins folder and they ARE there. How do I get them to reconnect?

    I tried the renaming of the plugins folder and waited a few minutes. Do I have to wait longer because it didn’t work.
