All plugins have disappeared

  • This has been happening a bit lately and I wonder have you had anything similar happen?

    WordPress version and all plugins up to date. I have installed Advanced Automated Updates plugin on lots of my sites including this one.

    I logged in today and all the plugins have disappeared. They are on the server in the plugins folder. Previously I have had to underscore each folder and reinstall the plugin. The settings all remain in the DB which is good.

    Do you know of any easier way to correct this hack? I have looked at forums but the info I can find is all years old.

    Just wondered?
