Why does you plugin state that every other plugin on the site is none compliant??

I am not sure I believe that plugins like Formidable Forms, Site Origin Page Builder, All in One SEO, to name just some are none compliant.

This notice is not about being compliant, it lists the plugins that don’t use the consent api to handle consent. In other words, it’s a list of plugins without an integration with the consent api.

    But Rogier

It’s EVERY plug-in on the site! Surely that cannot be right?

Also why should plug-ins, not directly associated with compliance, need a warning. Surely this can be misleading?

Flagging up health warnings in the dashboard on this basis should not be right. You need to change the way you ‘warn’ people.

In other words what is the point when with things like Complianz can be specifically set up.

I see you have had no reviews ……

Please note that this a project that is meant for merging into WordPress core. Although I’m the developer of Complianz, this plugin is not associated with Complianz (it will also work with Cookiebot for example), and is a community project to enable consent communication between plugins.

If you have suggestions how this can be improved, please do a pull request on the GitHub repository, and you can become a WordPress core contributor when this is merged.

The plugin simply lists plugins that do not declare they apply the consent api. The plugin can’t tell if a plugin does consent management or does any tracking, so can’t say if a plugin needs a consent api.

What exactly do you mean with ‘you have no reviews’? That’s to be expected, as the purpose of the plugin is only to add a consent api that other plugins need to use. It does not do anything when no other plugins are installed.

It is a very basic plugin that does only one thing: allow a plugin to tell other plugins if there is consent for a specific purpose (if they listen to the signals, which is what this list is about).

I would suggest then that your plugin does not show warnings in the site health section as I feel that is misleading.

The statement of “Not all plugins have declared to follow Consent API guidelines. Please contact the developer.” would mean that if someone has 20 plugins on their site and your plugin reports them that a person is left to contact 20 plugin authors, under the “scare” of believeing their site is not healthy when this is not really true.

I installed your plugin on another site as a test and it reported some well respected plugins, like Wordfence for instance.

    So I’ve uninstalled it again.

I’ve passed on your thoughts to a couple of plugin authors I know well for their assessment of how their plugin can pass your plugin’s tests.

    Regards
