Hi all something real weird has happened….

All of a sudden now whenever I add a new product, all the product images magnification state has reversed as in the product image displayed on the product page is magnified by default and when you click on the magnifier icon it displays the non magnified image.

Any one any idea how to fix this I would really appreciate it as all our product pages look awful!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

I understand when clicking on the magnifier icon then the image displayed is not magnified.

You can perform the following actions to check if it solves the issue:

Does this make a difference? Let us know.

Hi Igor, thanks for the reply but I dont want to switch themes right now as we are in the middle of a promotion and we are getting a lot of traffic and I dont want to break anything during this promo.

Just for clarification, the problem is that the image is displayed magnified by default and returns to non magnified when the magnifier icon is clicked NOT just that its not magnified when the icon is clicked. Its like the magnify fucntion is reversed.

    Hi @synapseone!

    Thank you for clarifying.

We understand that sometimes, it is not possible to switch themes or perform any conflict test on your live site; for that, we recommend creating a staging site, using the WP Staging plugin and then check if there’s a conflict with the theme.

If the issue persists after that, please try a running full conflict test by temporarily switching your theme back to Storefront, disabling all plugins except WooCommerce, and then check again if the issue persists.

If that solves it, reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, reactivate your other plugins, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation of how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

Let us know how that goes for you!

Hi Juan, thanks thats really helpful, much appreciated.

    Results of tests:

Staging site created, switched theme to storefront, issue persists.
Deactivated all plugins (bar woocommerce), issue rectified.
Reactivated Blocksy (with all plugins bar woocommerce deactivated) issue returns.

Im guessing that means its a conflict with the theme Blocksy and looking at the history blocksy had an update at about the time the problem first started so looks like its an issue with the latest Blocksy update?

    Hi @synapseone

Thank you for performing these tests. It seems that you have correctly troubleshooted the problem, and that the “Blocksy” plugin is causing the magnification to malfunction.

Please note that this forum is intended to provide support for the default functionality of the WooCommerce core plugin, and guidance on issues caused by third-party themes or plugins falls outside our scope of support. The issue should be best handled in the “Blocksy” support forum:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/blocksy-companion/

Feel free to share a link to this thread there, so the information will be available to the support staff.

Meanwhile, as a temporary workaround you can add the following custom CSS to reverse the magnification on the front end:

    .woocommerce-product-gallery .ct-image-container img {width: auto; height: auto;}

    Best
