Such a big plugin with about 600,000 installations and you were not able to take over the settings of the version 4.x ???

This is an absolute no go! I will never again use this plugin!

It was a useful plugin also in the free version for about 15 years. Now it’s unusable and no longer user friendly.

    Hi @daveshine

We completely understand your frustration, and we’re truly sorry for the disruption this update has caused. Our goal was to simplify the backup process, but we recognize that many users relied on the flexibility and customization options in the previous version.

While existing jobs remain in read-only mode, we know that not being able to fully edit them has been a major issue. We’re actively working on restoring all key functionality, including removing the two-job limitation, improving job customization, and bringing back more control over backup settings.

We truly appreciate the years you’ve spent using BackWPup, and we’re working hard to make it a tool you can rely on again. If you’d prefer to continue using version 4.1.7 while we make these improvements, you can roll back here.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    The BackWPup Team
