• Hi, I have been running my blog on the same server since May 2005 without problems until two weeks ago. All of a sudden, the site is no longer working, and page access attempts reported a WordPress database error: [Got error 127 from table handler]. The server customer support person went in and “fixed” the tables, but now all site pages are blank.

I have access to the login and admin panels using the direct html address, but all site pages are blank with no html content.

I have read all the “blank Page” postings here, and I have tried everything including but not limited to:
-remove all wordpress files and reload from tarball
-no plugins are active, and none have ever been anyway
-changed theme to see if my theme got screwed up
-edited index.php (now back to same as before)

Trying the direct html address to the theme’s index.php gives me this error:
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header() in /var/www/html/home/wp-content/themes/default/index.php on line 1”

I logged in to the PHPadmin for the database, and all data is there, plus I can see it all the postings in the WordPress Manage panel.

    Site is https://www.montrealpredators.com/home.

    Thanks.

  • You cannot fix it. Email your host – table handler errors are their “job”.
(just serach here for “error 127”)

My host, webserve.ca, are saying the site is “fixed”, but I still get only blank pages. No more database table errors, however, and I can access the WordPress admin panel directly at https://www.montrealpredators.com/hom/wp-login.php. However, any posting I “View” shows up blank, even though the text appears in the WordPress manage panel.

    What else can I check?

One more thing: I just remembered I upgraded from 1.5 to 1.5.2 a few weeks before the problem started, however, the site worked for several days/weeks after the upgrade.

Looks okay to me….. tried CTRL and F5 in your browser ?

Yes, it started working last evening. Webserve.ca support said they put back the “require(‘./wp-blog-header.php’);” at the top of my index.php, and now it works.

I don’t understand this. I thought that line was commented out going from 1.2 to 1.5 (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Upgrade_1.2_to_1.5). Is it still needed, or did Webserve.ca do something else to fix the site, and are not telling me everything they did…

    Thanks.

OK, so I checked, and the root index.php has the “wp-blog-header” line, but the index.php in the themes doesn’t. But at one point I replaced every file with fresh ones from the wordpress tarball (which would have had the correct index.php) and it still wasn’t working at that point.

As well, the index.php would have been correct all along when my site was working, and I did not touch it when I upgraded from 1.5 to 1.5.2…

Anyway, the site works now, but I am not sure what the problem was… I checked the time stamp on the root index.php, and I am pretty sure that the host support staff are the ones who fiddled with index.php in the first place.
