I recently restored my site using updraftplus plugin.

I used to use updraftplus to backup my site back in 2018. I restored the backup files from 2018 using updraftplus.

When I restored all the files viz. database, plugins, uploads, themes, other files, the blog posts on my site are showing properly and the URL structure is also fine.
However, all the images in the blog post as well as the logo image are broken.

When I go to the media section of the site I can see that there are 85 images but they are not visible. (screenshot)

Also, when I go into the plugins section I can see that there are only 3 plugins installed on my site. I believe I had more plugins installed on my site.

Also, when I restored my site the theme of the site was changed to the default wordpress theme instead of generatepress which I used to use on the site.

Besides, I can see the pages such as contact page, about page, privacy policy page in the back end of my site but they are not visible on the front end.

Also, the footer widget is missing.

Also, on the contact page, the contact form is not showing up.
I believe I used the contact form 7 plugin to create the contact form. I noticed that the contact form 7 plugin is also missing.

So basically it seems like the restoration of the site is not done properly so could you help me fix it.

Just so you know that the database backup file and all the other folder backup files are from different dates. The database file is from October 2019 and all the other files are from October 2018.

    Hi,

“all the images in the blog post as well as the logo image are broken”
    > Can you manually check if the media files are really missing in the “wp-content/uploads” folder?

“Also, when I go into the plugins section I can see that there are only 3 plugins installed on my site. I believe I had more plugins installed on my site. ”
    > You can also check the plugins.zip folder if contains more plugins that what was restored

    “the footer widget is missing.”
    > Check if the widgets are set to inactive?

“Also, on the contact page, the contact form is not showing up.
I believe I used the contact form 7 plugin to create the contact form. I noticed that the contact form 7 plugin is also missing.”
    > Do you see any error message? Check if the shortcode is present?

Hey Bryle, Thanks for your reply.

I checked the backup files and I noticed that in the uploads backup file there are no images.

Also in the plugins backup folder, there are only 3 plugins.

I checked the back end of the contact page and I can see there is a shortcode for the form.

So it seems like as there are no images in the uploads backup folder and there are only 3 plugins in the plug-in backup folder, when I restored the site I am not seeing any images and only have three plugins.

However, when I go into my media library on the site I can see that WordPress is kind of recognizing that there are 168 media items in the media library but they are not visible (screenshot)

I am wondering why this could be happening?

Also, as I said I believe I had more than 3 plugins and also a contact form 7 plugin but they are not showing up in the backup file.

So I am wondering why UpDraftPlus backup files don’t have the images and all the plugins in the backup folder?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

It is possible that the backup did not successfully complete.
To confirm this theory, please provide a copy of the backup log.
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hey Bryle,

Here’s the link to the backup log- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ap6Z7YqfvzK4BiHAFDl4me2oKMPRHsCM/view?usp=sharing

I used to use the WP recipe maker plugin on my site which I used to create recipe cards on all my recipe blog posts. After restoring the site I didn’t find this plugin and the recipe cards on my blog posts.

However, after installing and activating the plugin, the recipe cards automatically showed up in all my recipe posts. But the images are broken in some of the recipe cards.

Also, I recently did a backup of my site and I noticed that UpdraftPlus is creating two “uploads” folders in the backup.

I am wondering why this could be happening?

    Thanks.

It sounds the restoration did not complete, can you send us the restoration log from the wp-content/updraft directory of your site via FTP?

I recently took backup of my site and noticed that there are multiple uploads folders in the backup instead of just one. How can I fix this?

Please help me! I accidentally loaded a template on my website and it’s completely ruined. I don’t have a back-up and I can’t figure out how to revert it please help me!
