Wondering if there is any way possible to allow Editor users to bulk admin the members?

Right now the only way to do a bulk renew (free listings) is if you’re an WP Admin user and we need to be able to allow an Editor to do the renewals when they come due. Not a problem when there are only a few, but when there are 30 or 40, it would be a real time saver.

Recent update has been applied, btw.

    Hi @macdoodle,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

Have you considered making your free plan “unlimited” in length, so you no longer need to do renewals at all?

If you have a free plan and that’s your only choice, just make it “forever” and then renewals are no longer an issue.

You can bulk export the listings via CSV and the fee plan ID will be included along with expiration date. You can remove the expiration date and that will prevent the listings from ever renewing again.

    Does that make more sense?

    Please let me know.

The free plan IS unlimited length, but it was changed to that after the site had launched with expiration dates for some of the entries. Now new entries don’t expire, but older entries had to be updated when they expired and that seems to work for converting them to the new “unlimited”.

But, even if the admin did bulk renewals for all the listings (not just expired), some of the listings that had multiple categories would only renew 1 category at the “never” expire term. Doesn’t seem to be any clear cut way to renew the listing, in all its categories, via the bulk method.

That being said, I’ll try it the way you’re suggesting, see how that goes. So I’m clear on this, all I need to do is remove the empty the date column for all listings in the csv?

    Hi @macdoodle,

Are you running BD 4.x or 5.x? We’ve drastically changed things in 5.0 so that renewal is about a LISTING, not the CATEGORIES anymore…so renewing the listing renews it for all categories implicitly. That wasn’t the case in 4.x and it was super confusing.

Yes, removing the date should clear it for expiration on all listings.

    Please let me know.

Working site is still on 4.x. Test site was upgraded to look for problems and see if it fixed this issue. I will follow through and confirm results later today.

Sorry for delay. Only just now got to this.

The answer is it worked on some of them. I have a patch of about 8 entries that didn’t change to “never” expire, but they did change to a year from today. That’s less of a problem to update than 40 or 50, so I’m not complaining. But I can’t explain why they didn’t update right.

Also – please add to wish list the ability to either sort on expires on date, or filter by. That would make things a lot easier to track down.

We will definitely add it to the list!

    Thanks for letting me know.
