Allow Editor to have full access to Plug in

    Hello,
    I would like an Editor to have full Access only to the Event Manager plugin…i.e. meaning they can Change all the Settings, temaplates as well.
    This is not possible via User Role Editor.
    Can I Change this in PHP and how.
    Note: I do not want this person to Access other plug ins..just be in Charge of Event Manager.

    Although there are a number of options available for controlling user access under Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities, to create specialist access like this you’d need to use custom coding.

    Thank you for your response. I know about the User Capabilities..but it doesn’t allow option for editor to adjust basic settings for emails, general setup.
    In other plug ins I was able to allow plug in access to editors by changing roles from manage_options to edit_options in the php file… Didn’t find this in php files for Event manager so am not sure what custom code to use and where to insert it.. is it possible for you to send this info to me (if it’s not too much trouble)? Sorry, it would just make my life much easier. I have just purchased the pro version as we wanted to have more custom questions on the form. We are an English teacher’s organization in Germany and have about five events a year. I am not a professional webmaster..just doing this on a volunteer basis and teaching myself.

    We don’t recommend editing plugin files directly because that can cause problems and the changes will be lost when the plugin is updated.

    Instead, this may be something that can be done with another plugin for user roles.

    It might also be possible to use custom code that refers to one of the custom Events Manager user capabilities like edit_events.
