I would like to allow only Facebook Comments on my website (via a plugin I have installed), but disable the native WordPress Comments altogether. We are getting tons of spam comments through the wordpress interface and they are filling up our database, nor do we use WordPress commenting anyway, hence the need to disable them.

At first I just had the Facebook Comments plugin “hide” WordPress comments through an option in its settings panel. When activating this plugin, it still put up the “Comments Closed” tag and the Facebook Comments went away. So then I tried inserting the php shortcode that calls the Facebook Comments plugin directly into the single.php thinking that would sidestep the above issue, but it still disables it.

So basically… Is it possible to use this plugin to disable WP comments everywhere, but still have my Facebook Comment box show up?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry, it’s not.

The plugin is designed to do one thing and to do it efficiently: disable comments completely. It is not practical to allow exceptions (one person wants to allow FB comments, another wants to allow Disqus, another wants to allow pingbacks etc.) without making the plugin slow and bloated.

    Understood. Thanks for the clarification.

Follow this question, I have a question.
I disabled entire comment system in wordpress by turning of in normal way and using plugin that called “Disable Comments”.
Then I started using FB comments for my website, but still wired.
After I disable the comments system, try to check the blog page.

The blog page is still showing “0 Comments” at bottom of the blog, top of the FB Comments.
I wanna hide it, but no way to do it.

    Any suggestion?

Sorry my bad, please ignore my last message.
