Allow free downloads for certain memberships

The plugin should work like this already. You can restrict products to specific memberships, and you can customise my plugin settings to only include products you want to include.

Thank you for replying Richard. Let me explain a little bit further what I mean. I have two memberships in my site. And some products are available to both memberships. However while I’d like one of these memberships to have access to downloads in product page, I’d like the other membership to go through checkout, in other words disable their direct download on the product page.
Because we are talking about the same product, “Include selected products only” option is not really working here.

Though, if you weren’t talking about “Include selected products only” option when you said “You can restrict products to specific memberships” I am not sure I’m seeing an option in this plugin to manually select memberships to get access to download on product page.

I see what you mean now. Do you think it would be helpful if there was a 4th membership option where could you specify which memberships were eligible for free download? That way if the user doesn’t have that membership they’d have the normal add to cart behaviour.

Good afternoon Elif, just wanted to let you know the next update will include this feature. I’ve tested it out and seems to work well, be sure to try it when it’s released. It works as follows:

Option 4 of the memberships settings is called “Include selected memberships only”. When this is set any product that is free will only be eligible if the user has a membership that is set to allow free downloads. This will allow free downloads of any product regardless of membership restrictions etc.

You set that using a tickbox on the actual membership plan screen. Dead simple.

If the user isn’t a member of any memberships like that, the default Add to Basket behaviour will take place for everything and normal membership restrictions will apply.

In the premium version this all works with products that have variations as well!
