• Hello WordPresssers,
I’m busy to create my own theme from scratch. I would like to allow image upload by the admin on a page. My page looks like a wall of pictures, each picture has its own frame, its own size and the layout is far te be linear. So I need each of the pictures to be editable / replaceable separately in the admin.
    I have 2 tracks:
    – Advanced custom fields
    – Multiple featured images
Am I on the good way or is there an other way ?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Is this theme for the WordPress repository?
If yes, it won’t be allowed, because this is plugin territory.
If not, do what you want.

The Media Library already lets you edit and manage images.
If you want the layout to apply to a certain page, then that should be stored with the page (custom field).
There is already a mechanism to attach multiple images to a page. No other is needed.

Somehow, this sounds like it should be part of the editor (a new block perhaps?) instead of a theme.

    Hello Joy,
I needed to be able to import and replace each image of my page and I needed these images to exactly adapt to the layout that I had previously created. But I did it by allowing “MultiPostThumbnails”.
    Thanks for your reply.
