• Hi all, I’ve been looking for a way to add greater functionality to one of my blogs, but can’t seem to find a solution.

What I’m looking for is a way of allowing readers to join the blog through a paid membership and in turn this membership allows them to add content to there own posts to an authors area.

Is there anyway of doing this with plugins and widgets etc?

    Any advice would be great.

  • Heard of Google? You might have ran into this: https://www.wp-membership.com
There seem to several things for that, I never tried any.

Thanks for the helpful and informative reply – I must check Google out sometime (is it a new service) ??
I have looked on Google but never seen this software option, but thanks anyway for pointing it out.

It seems to do exactly what I’m looking for though – would be interested to hear if anyone has used it

WP has its own membership thing. You can say that users have to sign up to comment, or sign up and become author. All that is already there. I never heard of anyone wanting paid membership, but it seems that the plugin I ran into, does what you want (for a fee, nice irony!). I suppose there are also free similar plugins. Just have another peek at that brand new service called Google.

Your a star – thank you ever so much for your help

I’ll update this when I select one and test it.

But seriously thank you very much indeed
