is it my installation or it isn’t possible for logged out visitors to see the subscription page?

  • Hey there,

Are you referring to the [pms-subscriptions] shortcode?

In case so, please consult this section of our documentation.

    It says this shortcode:

will allow logged in users, that didn’t purchase a subscription plan at registration, to subscribe to a subscription plan.

why wouldnt you let unlogged-in users to see what they can buy before registering? doesn’t make much sense.

    Hey there,

The logged out users can see the subscription plans on the registration form, generated with the [pms-register] shortcode, as explained in the section of our documentation.

right. but there’s a difference between looking at products to buy before deciding to go to the register page. imagine amazon hiding every product until you go to the register page.
wanting to register implies knowing there’s a product you’re interested in.

i guess i can make a page with the same info (of each product) that can be found in the register page, but i think your plugin would greatly improve its usability if logged out users could see products before registering, which like i said, it’s not how you do things, imo!

    Hey there,

    Indeed.

The [pms-subscriptions] shortcode generates a subscription *form*.

We create functionality. Static content can easily be added with no need for any plugin or for coding.

one thing is creating functionality, the other thing is creating confusion.

show me a website where you can only see a product on the registration page?

    but leave that alone.

the plugin allows me to show the registration page *without* subscriptions. so now the users need to register before looking at the subscriptions to buy.

can’t you see you’re looking at it the wrong way?

it’s rhetorical. it’s obvious the plugin will stay as is.

    still, appreciative for the plugin.

    cheers

    Hey there,

When we have several requests for a new feature, we think about implementing this. But really I have been supporting this plugin for nearly one year now and never have I heard this complain before. It’s not so hard to create a static page with that info. It surely takes much less time than our conversation here.

less time yes, more automated no. my cliente (which never makes up her mind) now has two places to change the same info. why? because it’s a given that products are on one page, and registration is on another. i don’t know why nobody has ever said anything – perhaps it’s because there’s not many users with the plugin installed? then half of who installed look for another plugin? and half of the remaining don’t care? half of the remaining settle for how the plugin is built? idk

i hope the plugin gets this feature tho, all things considered.

it’s not bad of a plugin.

    Hey there,

We thank you for the appreciation. We do our best, as everyone does.

    With the best of regards,
