Allow Viewer to Close/Dismiss Cloned Sticky Element

  • Hi Mark,

    Thank you for creating an excellent plugin. Is it possible to provide an option to allow the site visitor to close/dismiss the cloned/floating sticky item?

    I believe this option/feature would be very useful and see that a similar capability was requested about a month ago. Here is a summary of the desired implementation:

    – A close “X” on the cloned/floating sticky (but not on the original element) would be ideal.
    – Our use case is to promote a featured article with a sticky “ad”; but allow the visitor to dismiss the sticky by clicking the “X” to close it.
    – Re-enabling the sticky is ok if the user reloads the page.

    In the previously mentioned request you indicated the possibility of accommodating the capability as an add-on. This would be perfect. We would love to use this plugin on a site we are deploying for a client in two weeks. Does this align with your timeline for this potential add-on? If not, we are open to discussing/funding a custom update. Can we discuss this via email?

    I’m not really ready to release a fully-functioning add-on to the plugin at the moment, mostly because I need to figure out the best way of distributing it and how to actually connect the add-on to the plugin.
