    Hi,

I’m using the free version of your plugin. The directory itself is only visible to logged in members of our site, but I allow anonymous users to submit listings. Unfortunately this means that anonymous users can’t then edit their listings with an access key because they can’t see them!

Is there any way of sending a link to an edit listing page where anonymous users can input their access key that gets around the fact you have to be a member to view the listing itself?

    Hi @rosbiffer

Thanks for contacting us here. I’ll happily help you with this!

You can allow anonymous users to edit listings by enabling the Allow anonymous users to edit/manage listings with an access key? option. You can find this option by going to Directory > Settings > General > Registration.

If checked, this allows users to manage their listings without an account and instead, use their email and an access key (emailed to them when the listing is placed, or one you can manually send from the Directory > Directory Listings area) to edit or delete the listing.

If you have any other questions or issues, please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply. This issue is of course because only registered users can see the listing then anonymous users can’t see their own listing to then edit it. I’m just wondering if there’s a link direct to the edit page that they would be able to see using email and access key? (The automatic email when submitting a listing directs you to the listing itself, not the edit page, so for anonymous users it just says please login to view this page).

    Hi @rosbiffer

When the Allow anonymous users to edit/manage listings with an access key? option is enabled, users will have the option to log in using the access key or login info as seen in this screenshot below.

You can also set up a page using the [businessdirectory-manage-listings] shortcode. This will allow users to see and manage their listings when logged in with an access key.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know!

Ah, I don’t use the standard login but a custom one (RegistrationMagic). I presume then there’s no way of just getting to the edit page as there’s no option to log in with an access key.

    Hi @rosbiffer

I have talked this over with our developers. Unfortunately, it seems it wouldn’t work to do both. You would have to choose between having a custom login page or the default login with the ability to login with an access key.

If you have any other questions, please let me know!

OK thanks. Shame as it would have been really useful for a private directory!
