Allowing Authors only writing abilities

  • Is there anyway that I can allow authors only writing permission? Right now authors have the ability to change SEO options, Manage Comments and posts. I only want them writing permissions.

  • Try out the role manager plugin here.

    Built in roles:

    Roles and Capabilities

    Maybe you want to make them “contributors” instead of their current role (sounds like they’re “editors” or something, not “authors”).

    If you need more than that, you might search plugins. I think I’ve seen one for managing capabilities.

    Ok, I installed the above plugin, set the capabilities and it still allowed them to have SEO editing and managing comments. Im not sure what else to try…

    They have edit posts, delete posts, publish posts and read enabled
