Allowing the selection of multiple categories to users

    Hi,
    I want to allow the user to select a single category from different drop downs.
    Like City, Event Type, and Year as my posts are intended to be categorized in the said manner.

    I noticed here that the final drop down category is the one that is chosen and the rest do not feature.
    I do not understand this and would like to know how to get this working.
