Allowlisted IP Addresses

    Hi. On the settings of firewall, etc, would like to use DNS names as another option for all “Allowlisted IP addresses” requirements.

    This is because we do not have fixed IP address for the office. However, we can populate our dynamic IP address to cPanel Dynamic DNS.

    Example:
    Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass all rules
    x.x.x.x
    myoffice.dynamic.ip

    Will you incorporate this in?

    Hi @itman2000my, thanks for your question.

    Generally if legitimate users are being blocked, I would check that your IP detection is correct and recommend changing any options that may be too strict such as Rate Limiting or Brute Force. For example, visitor IPs being detected incorrectly as a server/load balancer/proxy could mean that one IP being blocked actually blocks everybody visiting the site for a set period of time.

    I have submitted it to our development team where all customer suggestions are discussed although I cannot provide updates on its likelihood, or any timescales, of being introduced to Wordfence.
