The plugin appears not to work. All the cookies that are categorized as Statistics or Marketing in Complianz are allowed to be set before permission has been given, and even persist when permission is revoked by clicking Deny. For example: __hssc, __hssrc, __hstc, hubspotutk, _ga, _ga_[string]. Do Not Track also has no effect. Only cookies categorized as Functional should be set before consent is given, and existing cookies should be deleted if consent is revoked by clicking Deny. Right? or am I missing something?

    Hi @swinggraphics,

Our HubSpot integration works by hooking into HubSpot’s own consent banner, and therefore it requires some configuration within your HubSpot account to work as expected. Please see this article for step-by-step instructions on how to set this up: https://complianz.io/hubspot-integration/

As for Google Analytics, did you implement this through the Complianz Wizard (under Wizard > Consent > Statistics & Statistics – configuration)? If you have, but the script still loads without consent, possibly you have a duplicate implementation of the Analytics script. If you share an URL to your site, we can take a look at this to determine the cause.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @swinggraphics,

As for: “Only cookies categorized as Functional should be set before consent is given, and existing cookies should be deleted if consent is revoked by clicking Deny. Right?”. This is an option in Complianz with the ‘CookieShredder’, but it’s only technically possible to delete first-party cookies, not on other domains like facebook.com, only block the connection.

If you can post your URL as well, we can have a better understanding of what’s going on. regards Aert

Thank you for the reply. I will look into the Hubspot settings, but the Google cookies are set regardless. Complianz is used for the GTM tag. I cannot post a link to the live site because it is technically out of compliance and therefore a legal liability. We do not have a duplicate implementation; with Complianz disabled, no GTM code is output at all.

    Hi @swinggraphics,

When using GTM with Complianz, you can use the Complianz Custom Events to fire tags based on consent. As when you fire the Analytics tag on a trigger such as “All Pages” it will not wait for consent.

You can download and import our Tag Manager container from this article, which contains these custom events: https://complianz.io/importing-tag-manager-container/

You can then set the Firing Trigger of the Analytics tag (and other tags that need to wait for consent on a specific category) to one of these Custom Events:

    Hope it helps!

    Hi @swinggraphics,

Have you been able to correct the behavior by following the steps mentioned above for GTM, so you can trigger your Tags based on the consent type that was obtained in Complianz?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi.
Same problem here. I’m not sure to understand…
If I firstly deny cookies, I don’t see appear the _ga cookies, but if I click on “See the settings” and enabled the statistics (or click on “Accept”), once the _ga cookies have been accepted, they stay even if I refuse them later :(…
    What did I miss?

    TIA

    Hi @pierre_02,

If the steps above did not make a difference for you, then, as per the?WordPress Forum Rules, please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post, and the original topic starter will not get notifications about this.

As for your question: note the difference between revoking consent and actually removing any previously set cookies from the browser. If you manually remove the cookies from your browser after a revoke, you will see that no new “_ga” cookies are being created as Complianz has blocked the Analytics script once again.

If you want the plugin to actively remove cookies from the visitor’s browser that do not match the currently selected consent type, try the CookieShredder functionality found under Wizard > Consent > Services > “Do you want to enable Consent per Service and the CookieShredder…” (details here: https://complianz.io/introducing-the-cookieshredder/).

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
