• Just shows that i shouldn’t rely on just 1 plugin and stuff breaks and fails, but launching an update to a plugin that clearly wasn’t tested because it breaks wordpress immediately and then no reply and no fix for a day and counting, clearly its time to move to something better.

  • The same thing happened to me. I have WP 5.2 and the plugin updated and the page was no longer accessible.

    error message
    E_COMPILE_ERROR. require_once() [function.require.php]: Failed opening required ‘/home/xxx/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/whitelist-html/whitelist-html.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/share/pear’)

    Solution for the moment
    Go with FTP to your plugin folder and rename the folder old*.*. Now you should be able to log in again in dashboard. Disable the plugin until the plugin is tested with your version.

    Yes thats what i did… to all my wordpress sites, around 30… i dont understand how a backend app can crash the whole site and like i said, bad things happen, but no test before updating and then after the update everyone goes to a vacation, seems like they just want to kill this plugin!
